Green Sunrise hits the UK

It’s been a year since our growth strategy “Green Sunrise” took off and a lot has happened since. We are now sharing our latest Green Sunrise openings around the world, with a series of articles. First in line is an update on our new UK facility.
During April 2019, the UK green team opened the first TP Aerospace wheels and brakes MRO in the UK. The UK establishment is just one of the additional 11 locations, supporting the Green Sunrise growth plan, bringing the company to 18 locations globally by 2020. The facility’s 1,100 sqm are spread over three connected units and is designed to accommodate over 10,000 units of repair and overhaul on aircraft wheels and brakes. With the establishment of TP Aerospace Technics UK Ltd., TP Aerospace has now opened its first MRO in Derbyshire. The new shop has been operational since April 2019 and is a significant strategic move in alignment with the Green Sunrise growth plan; the addition of 11 new locations, bringing the company to 18 locations globally by 2020. The new MRO workshop consists of 3 x 369 sqm. units located in Castle Donington close to East Midlands Airport and used new advanced machineries and equipment to create an efficient and effective maintenance facility. The workshop is operated by seven skilled staff, including workshop manager, certifying staff, technicians, and procurement staff, who currently support fleet of 47 aircraft. The decision to expand to the UK is based on several factors. One being that the airline industry in the United Kingdom is comprised of a large multitude of airlines, varying from low-cost carriers to international airline groups as well as being home to 15 large aerospace companies. The region also has a network of world-class supply chain companies, making it the “beating heart” of the wider UK sector. This makes the UK a very interesting and important region to TP Aerospace, in the quest to expand the green global footprint and to be closer to customers and business partners. The importance of customer convenience is an essential part of the TP Aerospace DNA. By minimizing unnecessary costs and time spent on logistics activities and setting up MRO workshops in accessible locations worldwide, the company strives to always keep it simple for its customers. “Customer convenience is a top priority for us, which is why we needed to find a location in the UK closest to our customers’ operations. With this workshop, we have developed a modern production facility that will support our current and future customers in the region to the highest level of quality and efficiency.” Says TP Aerospace’s Technical Director, Prashan Ambawatta. After receiving approval from EASA the UK green team released its first wheel on April 30th, 2019. This was a great accomplishment for TP Aerospace and the new team in the UK especially.
