It’s been a year since the launch of our Green Sunrise growth strategy and a lot has happened since. In this article you can read all about our MRO workshop in Thailand, which opened earlier this year. Happy reading!
During the first half of 2019, TP Aerospace opened a wheel MRO workshop in Bangkok, Thailand. The extension to the green family is part of the Green Sunrise growth plan – an ambitious strategy for increasing proximity to airline customers worldwide and provide the best possible wheel and brake support, wherever in the world their aircraft may be.
The new MRO workshop is located 10 minutes from Suvarnabhumi International Airport and only 45 minutes from Don Mueang and U-Tapao International Airport. The facility is currently operated by a smaller team of five certified staff, including; Accountable Manager, Quality Manager, Workshop Manager and technicians who will conduct up to five units per day.
The workshop is set up with the capacity to service wheels customers and has been installed with highly efficient equipment like all TP Aerospace’s workshops globally. The workshop has furthermore been installed with our new paperless system in order to simplify the work process and document the workflow.
TP Aerospace has chosen Thailand as another Green Sunrise target due to the strong growth in the Thai market. In addition, a significant part of TP Aerospace’s existing customer base is located nearby, making it more convenient for all parties involved while also minimizing time and resources on logistics.
“Proximity is an essential part of the TP DNA; we want to be closer to our customers operations’ in order to provide the best possible service. With the hard work and dedication from our high-performance Green Team, we have managed to set up a workshop, which I am confident will see positive results and great expansion going forward.” Says TP Aerospace’s Director of Sales & Business Development, Matthew Pun, and continues “Thailand is located at the heart of Asia, and we see that our presence in the country has opened up for other opportunities in the neighboring ASEAN countries, allowing us to expand our brand and value proposition even further to the Asian market.”
After receiving approval by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) the workshop has been fully operational as of April 22, 2019. A great accomplishment for TP Aerospace and the Thailand Green Team especially.
