Strengthened commitment to corporate responsibility

July 3, 2017
We are very proud to announce that on 30 June, TP Aerospace became signatory to the United Nations Global Compact! This marks an important step on our journey to align our corporate responsibility efforts across our global operations.

Responsible business conduct is an ingrained part of the TP Aerospace DNA, and the company has always placed high expectations upon itself to conduct business with the highest level of integrity and ethical, environmental and social awareness.

Now is the right time for this step; we have great growth ambitions for TP Aerospace, but it is important for us to show that we care about how we grow and about how our increasingly global presence affects the societies around us” says Peter Lyager, CEO of TP Aerospace and continues: “It’s pretty simple, we want to prove that we do not operate and grow at the expense of ethical, environmental or social standards but rather in favor of these. And we believe the UN Global Compact provides the right framework for this

The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest voluntary initiative for corporate responsibility and it commits all members to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles within the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. By using the Global Compact as a blueprint, TP Aerospace is expected to adopt a more structured approach to corporate responsibility to ensure alignment across the company’s entities and global locations.

This commitment to the UN Global Compact will send a strong signal both internally and externally that corporate responsibility is at the core of our business strategy and that we wish to contribute our fair share to the sustainable development goals.” says the company’s Corporate Responsibility Manager Julie Løkkegaard.

Aligning strategies
During the last few months, TP Aerospace has been in the process of developing a corporate responsibility strategy that is not only aligned with the principles of the UN Global Compact but also builds on TP Aerospace’s heritage and mindset and supports the company’s overall business objectives.

It’s an extremely interesting process because sustainability is already ingrained in the TP Aerospace DNA and mindset. If you look at our business model, recycling and reuse of parts is at the core of the company and our very existence” says Ms. Løkkegaard and ads that this provide a solid foundation for a more structured and strategic approach to corporate responsibility going forward.

As signatory to the UN Global Compact, TP Aerospace is committing to providing an annual Communication of Progress (COP) report. The first report will be published alongside the 2017 financial report in early 2018.
